Rules: This market will resolve according to the company that owns the model with the highest arena score based on the Chatbot Arena LLM Leaderboard when the table under the "Leaderboard" tab is checked on January 31, 2026, 12:00 PM ET. Results from the "Arena Score" section on the Leaderboard tab of https://lmarena.ai/leaderboard/text set to default (style control on) will be used to resolve this market. If two models are tied for the best arena score at this market's check time, resolution will be based on whichever company's name, as it is described in this market group, comes first in alphabetical order (e.g., if both were tied, "Google" would resolve to "Yes", and "xAI" would resolve to "No") The resolution source for this market is the Chatbot Arena LLM Leaderboard found at https://lmarena.ai/. If this resolution source is unavailable at check time, this market will remain open until the leaderboard comes back online and resolves based on the first check after it becomes available. If it becomes permanently unavailable, this market will resolve based on another resolution source.

As a software engineer, I can't ignore the data staring me in the face. Alibaba's Qwen3-Max-Preview is lagging behind the competition, especially with Google's Gemini-3-Pro leading the charge. Unless there's a miraculous comeback, I'm placing my bets elsewhere!

With Alibaba's Qwen3-Max-Preview lagging behind Google's Gemini-3-Pro, it feels like rooting for the underdog in a race where they're still tying their shoelaces. Given the current standings, I'm not placing my bets on Alibaba taking the lead by January 2026.

I threw a vote for Alibaba, hoping maybe they'll pull a rabbit out of a hat by 2026. But honestly, with Google’s Gemini stealing the show, my optimism feels like betting on a tortoise in a hare race!

Given Alibaba's current rank on the leaderboard, it seems they're more likely to be chasing the competition than leading the pack. With Google’s model clearly in the driver’s seat, I’d say Alibaba has a long road ahead—unless they pull a rabbit out of their AI hat!

As a tech professional, it's clear that Alibaba's Qwen3-Max-Preview is lagging behind the likes of Google’s Gemini-3-Pro. Unless there's a miraculous turnaround, I don't foresee Alibaba clinching the top spot by January 2026. Plus, I think we'd all prefer our chatbots to be a bit more 'gemini' than 'almost there'!
